Who
Is Giving You Medical Information on the Internet?
There
is an almost unlimited amount of medical information on the internet,
some good, some bad, and some dangerous.
Their goal: Sell something to you or get your personal information.
Often,
the information is supplied by a business with a product to sell. Other sites gather
as much private information about you as they can get for sale to third parties. There are "doctors" on the internet who no longer practice medicine - they are salesmen. Some are trying to sell you "snake oil".
You may be vulnerable!
Patients
with cancer are particularly vulnerable to shysters and medical
racketeers who prey on their desperate hopes.
Our goal: To inform you. Information is the only thing we have to offer.
We do not sell products,
nor do we sell or share information about our visitors with anybody. Our doctors all still practice medicine and surgery. They have not given up real medicine to sell things on the internet. We
do not sell snake oil. We want you to have the information you need to understand your health issues better.
Our code of ethics:
We
subscribe to the HONCode code of ethics, which sets strict guidelines
for health information on the internet. Our site has been reviewed
and certified by the HonCode authority, the non-profit Health
on the Net Foundation. We strive to maintain the highest possible
standard for patient confidentiality, accuracy, authorship, sources,
attribution, and conflicts of interest related to that information.
Our pledge to you:
We
pledge to provide the most comprehensive, authoritative, and objective
information on bone tumors you can get on the 'net.
This site is our hobby - not our main job.
Please
understand that we have no corporate sponsors, no teams of skilled
programmers, and we derive no financial benefit from the site. We require users who ask questions to pay a small fee that goes to support out web hosting costs.
We appreciate the occasional generous donation from a happy user.
Updates, improvements, and additions to this site are made as
often as time allows.
